First of all, the topic of this thread is a total waste of time.
We hardly have enough support, funding, time etc. to fight GC related issue, and here people wasting time on discussing Citizenship! I am politely asking these people if any of you have contributed any of your time/money/effort to IV, Did you? Simply hypocrisy.

If someone is responsible for the current state of affairs in the H1B area , It is Indian firms . The H1B1 was started in 'GOOD FAITH ' by United States to help people from "all over the world" to come in and work in the US , but large Indian IT houses have overexploited these loopholes so much that we are currently in this sorry state of affairs .

It is US INS responsibility to ensure no one (mostly Indian IT companies and small companies in US operated from bedrooms, not basement or garage!! :) those created in garage are HP and GOOGLE) can exploit it. So blaming TCS and WIPRO and INFY and PATNI is not enough!! If we don't protect our house and thief exploits that to rob us that is our fault. This holds true for US INS too. And don't assume INS didn't know this. No exploitation is possible without Govt's active or passive approval. This is one big ecosystem and all have their share. That is how all businesses are operated across the world. Immigration is one of the biggest businesses here. And they want this chaos to exist for their interests.

Yeah, but the 5th item being demanded is the same as a free trip to the moon with out any flight training. Pappu, I really lost my interest in this. After waiting for so long, I have come to a state where I find this to be not worth it anymore. I don't want to continue with this uncertainity any longer and my children are growing up and I want to move on in my life. Negotiating a good job offer for a good position. Its not that I am going to get my GC in 6 months or let alone in 2 years with a total of more than 8000 people ahead of me. So, I am looking at a minimum of 2 years wait and I do not think its worth waiting any longer. Getting a GC in 3-5 years seems tobe a OK wait, but more than 7 years, I want to use my time in something else more precious. Did not mean to hijack the purpose of this thread, just wrote it because you asked that question.

Let us know if you would be interested in any media interview. We get lot of requests from media asking for people who are returning back to their home country after being frustrated from the long GC wait. Good luck and best wishes.

To all EB3 members whose PD is current:
Monday is the last day. If you don't get your GC approved, you got to wait for at least 7/8 months before they start moving dates forward. Beginning of each fiscal year, the dates are generally very conservative.
And for ROW EB3, if the bill passes to eliminate country quota, you will be getting your GC in not less than 5 years from now which you could have get it if your f**ing attorney/company would have file it 7 days earlier! Big time screwed! I am one of them!

Instead of writing a letter, why not start with a phone call. Find out a bit about the staff ahead of time (Google, Linkedin, etc.) and then call the person that is most likely to be helpful. Then ask for a meeting.

GC reform itself is long process and jumping next step is not a good idea. Also having Gc and citizenship will not make much difference. Only difference is voting , a very few government jobs and staying out of country for long time. It may be Ok to wait 5 years for citizenship for most people though it is preferable to reduce the waiting time.Green card is more important to resolve many issues. Still last time there was an attempt to reduce the waiting period 3 years.
I am also struggling to get my GC. It is my 9th year in H1B visa. My intention is, atleast we can reduce the period for waiting to get the citizenship. It can also be considered as a good benefit for our community. Just my thoughts...

good point ..I do invest in stocks / ETF's and funds ...but I would definitely say ..stay away from day trading !!! be diversified, invest in good companies (invest only pocket money/minor amount in very risky assets) and for the long term ..i.e. you should not need that money during emergencies ..STAY AWAY from all day trading softwares !!! and if you cannot take losses (or are happy with normal returns) ...stay away from stocks (except for a small portfolio/ 401 etc) completely

Yes, that is and was the case, but after this fiasco, approving 18k cases in a single day, I dont think they can play that game any more.
Visas are getting wasted, because they sit on their "chairs" not working on the cases. Not because there are not many applications.
