Here is the deal. I am tired of people afraid of doing something about what they wish to do but are afraid for reasons they themselves dont know. And I am not sure I am alone here and many people share this frustration.
The issue of legality has been addressed 100 millino times here as well as on the immigration portal of Rajiv Khanna. The people whose names exist on legal documents to register this organization, to open the paypal account where the money is going, the contracts and legal documents signed with QGA are real humans with names, drivers license, H1B visas and jobs and families.
Do you think they would be stupid to start an organization that would do anything illegal and hurt their own chances of getting a greencard?
Use your common sense and you will find the answers. This organization is not an underground website. This organization, besides having a website is registered with directors, president, secretary, treasurer etc as a real org in the state of new jersey and those people who put their names down on Organization registration, Paypal account, contract with Quinn Gillespie etc. do want a greencard and dont want to go to jail or be deported or be denied a greencard and they are not stupid. The names and emails may be made public really soon but I cannot promise anything now.
Still, if you are afraid, then my sincere advise and request to you is Go home and hide under your blanket and be afraid of everything and work 60 hours a week and you will get your greencard in 3-4 years time anyways.

A concept will be put to test by how it is received by all others in the same boat. Whether it is accepted or not, pls remain with IV.
Do not be discouraged by a critique - most have merit.
Become a donor - any effort in this country needs money.
From current sentiments floating amongst general public, donation for attention may look like a buyout attempt.
Reasoning with the right people in proper limelight is the strongest way.
The system is unfair to folks who have done things by the book.
To change it, in this economy is not easy. IV has put in tremendous efforts in the past.
Let us just not give up. Big names in Industry and rational voices in TV are slowly opening up to what we are facing.
But this is not our country. Let us be prepared to convincingly answer: Hey, don't like it? Go back to where you came from.

I left my previous employer more than 6 months back , he didnt paid me my final paycheck and i complained to DOL since 3 months...now wehn i asked for my W2 he said me to do whatever i feel and he is adamant at not giving it....moreover he said that his company has suffered losses worth 25K and his lawyer has sent a legal notice in this regard....and when i said how will we file taxes he says he wished for me to be out of status and go back.....
Since i have complained to DOL and also it is more than 6 moths since i left his organisation giving proper notice and have email confirmations, can he issue me legeal notice.....?please advice...
He is also saying that he has written to USCIS that I am fraud,....though I have been working in fortune 100 companies and now also working in reputed company and never lied for anything and was on project from day 1 since I came to States....? can USCIS cause problems for me in future...
Also, he seems to have closed his company..

I read through this proposed legislature and there is absolutely nothing to worry about.
your valid drivers license is clearly mentioned as one of the acceptable proof of legal status. you need to be arrested or there should be obvious reason to suspect ilegal presence for the law official to ask proof of legal status. Why is that of any concern? That is perfectly normal in a legal society. You dont have to walk around with your 797 or 94s all you have to carry is a valid drivers license. Even if you dont have a license you will be given a chance to proove your legal status or inother words the decision is not made on the spot.
Again for those unfortunate who are here ilegally this law might become an issue. But we might end up seeing inflation as a result of these crack downs. More industry particularly packing/agriculture might migrate oversees. Anyway we will wait and see.

I once asked an american embassy consular officer during an H1B renewal interview how long I had to stay in the US if I get laid off from my job. She smiled and said she doesnt know. Ironic right? Well I guess one way to make a point is by having a fax, letter and email campaign to let Businessweek know that they will be boycotted.
The other thing to do is get Businessweek declared into a racist publication and every blog entry should mention it so that any google search should bring mention the same.

In my case my GC sponsoring employer had consent signed from me before filing my GC that- I need to work for them for 1 yr at least after getting my GC. Otherwise I need to pay them all legal expenses they have spent on my GC process if I leave them before 1 yr.
Is this legal? my employer is top 5 IT firm. (Big pockets to fight anything like this)

After that I changed my company. My new company is going to apply for my GC In jun.

there are motivated members who cannot come for genuine reasons. we are trying to help them where we can- and they are helping others where they can. but they are far outnumbered by the "this is a forum if you don't want tracking why don't you close it" crowd. and the "who are you to ask me" crowd and " participation is voluntary, don't spam me" crowd- you know the drill.
apparently many have forgotten or never bothered to find out that IV is a grassroots organization that aims to end all retrogression. and they have a distaste for education too. after all they are "highly skilled" :confused:

First of all make a complaint about the employer to the INS that he is not paying... and make decision, US is not your entire life. If you have confidence you can do anything anywhere in this small world.
