my case is quite funny.
Applications went to texas service center originally.
From there they were transferred to California where they issued my EAD and AP but transferred the application back to TEXAS.
Oddly enough the only thing that i initially got in the mail was a transfer notice and the ead cards. I didn't get the receipt notice, the AP or a FP notice?????/
Any Idea whether anyone got ead without FP?

Sad to see students being punished like this. They are just taking advantage of the system and make some money, but not doing anything illegal. That's what we are all here for right? Make some money. If enrolling for F1 and working somewhere else is against rules, then why did USCIS issue F1 and CPT to the students.

on students of tri valley univeristy.
It's a human rights, privacy issue at it's peak..
It's heart breaking to see like this..

Thanks Chandu. Did the same. Got I485 reopended as it is USCIS error (Filing Fee Not enclosed.) Got I797c for both of us saying that I485 reopened.
I liked the "Filing Fee Not enclosed" part. How did you manage to open an MTR without attaching a fee check? Please let us know. Ideally, we should not attach fee with MTR for such cases as these are USCIS errors.

Attorney fees also increase in proportion to the USCIS Fees increase.
If you have noticed, the Attorney fees are relative to the form that they are working on. Historicaly, attorney's have increased the fees everytime there is an USCIS Increase.

We got FP notices for me & my wife on 01-25-08. Finger printing date is Feb 6th, 2008. Same date, same time for both of us. Just perfect!
We filed our I-485 application/EAD/AP on July 6th, 2007.
Ours is a transferred case (NSS-CSC-NSC).
Did not open any service request.
Looks like they started processing transferred cases.
People who have been waiting should be getting their FP notices now.

i think it depends where u r.
on friday when i went for my code 2 fingerprinting for my ead, i was the only one there for greencard/ead type biometrics.
everyone else, atleast 50-80 people were there at the same time for their N-400 (citizenship) biometrics.
i think they are processing the citizenship applications with full speed to lower the 18 month processing timeframe. everyone over there was a pre July 31st filer, when the citizenship fees increase took place.

Why do you think I should go for a new H1? I can always call my wife on a visitor visa. She can stay on a visitor visa in US for 1 year continuously. So why bother for an H4?
Unless there are some other advantages of H4 which I am missing?

Man, I-485 for Texas went back more than a month. It's so bad, they might as well not have published it, one would have slept better at night.

We just received news that the Judiciary Committee hearings which were supposed to run until 1.00 pm today and also tomorrow have been postponed to March 27th. Apparently the deal is that the Judiciary Committee wants to put pressure on Senator Frist so that he does not introduce his version of the bill bypassing the committee...
Will update as soon as we hear more...

Hello All,
I suggested this in my last two posts and I am suggesting this again. Emails , faxes to Rep will not create visibility of the problem. What we need to do is, do something big, like a DC rally again. One of the benefits behind doing this will be, everyone in this country i has their eyes on DC for presidential elections. Hence more visibility for us.
Secondly the topic of these three bills is hot, if we don't do anything now, it will turn cold, and then will be forgotten.
What we really need is a huge volume of high skilled workers in DC, not just a handful. Please let us all get together in DC again and push for these bills. We will get a lot of visibility. How about sending flowers to congress members?
Please let us all act on it!!

but even with this big announcement tomorrow, we still only have 140,000 visas and keep in mind USCIS has just been averaging about 100,000 per year. (so about 40,000 get wasted every year)
All all this does is to push the bottleneck further down the pipeline.
