I know that other than the GC and the passport...you don't need any other document. I guess your question can be interpreted as ...would those other documents help if you somehow lose your GC while traveling outside?

ICE do site visits to investigate employers. It happened to one of my former colleagues. What officer did was to verify that he was a genuine H1B employee. The officer visited his manager at client's place and verified his duties.
However I haven't heard an officer visiting one's home.

I am trying to port EB3 to EB2 but can not find an employer who will file labur for EB2. Can some one send good Desi Employers by Private email.
Also I talked to one employer and he said that I have to bring experience certificate from current employer to show my experience for EB2. The current employer says he will give the experience certificate but write only one line. ..... Any tips here.
By the way kumars story is very interesting. Here some companies thinks following thats many who working Fortune 500 companies are in EB3 or nowhere.

You can skip skin test and just straight away get a Xray done.
Also if its not possible to come here before Aug 15th ,then it will be very useful if she carries her titre's of all the required immunisations from an uscis certified physician in India and shows it to the civil surgeon here. Talk to the civil surgeon in person here and check with him if he will be willing to accept lab results from India .

I read somewhere that doctors abroad who do the tests for consular processing cannot be used for AOS medicals.
u'll get RFE only if theres is a mistake in medicals, if there is NO medicals in the 485 packet, i think ur appln will be outright sent back.
whats ur PD, if its in the range of 2000 u still have hope that in next few months ur date becoems eligible for AOS.
ive heard that there are some doctors out there (of questionable integrity) who accept cash and give out medical reports. even tho this is a backdoor approach, u can make a few calls and give it a try. to make ur case more genuine, try to get a list of all attributes recorded in the blood and skin test, and get those done promptly done in india. atleast let the doctor copy over ur wifes actual stats rather than inventing it. If ur case is genuine, may be someone will be merciful to help u out of ur predicament.

Here are a few reasons why I want to get the gc:
1) freedom to change jobs to make a higher salary so that I don't have to work two H1 jobs simultaneously
2) freedom to change your career track into another area, which cannot be done even with AC21 (job has to be essentially the same position)
3) freedom to travel out of the country and back in without going to Canada/Mexico each year for revalidation, for not only personal but even urgent busines trips. I get to see my family and friends, and not spend hundreds of $ in govt and legal fees
4) freedom to quit a job because the company/boss sucks
5) freedom to make enough money so that I can take a break from any job for a while (yes, this is actually a possibility if you have a well-enough paying job)
6) freedom to have one's dependents take advantage of benefits like in-state tuition, and other benefits residency brings
7) and finally freedom from the immense stress that I will lose my job and consequently all the time I have spent waiting for my gc, perhaps uproot myself and have to return to a place where I may not necessarily feel is home anymore
So am I doing what I really want?

How does one get to know if his Labor Substitution was rejected? If a Receipt Notice was received does that mean that it was accepted? And, can they reject it later?
Receipt Notice means they accepted the case for reveiwing. I guess these rejections came after they reveiwed the case.

Lawsuite may not work in all occasions. If visa's are not available how can USCIS approve a petition? The law say a VISA should be available in order to approve a GC.

Hi all legal eagles, advice please
My case is quite complicated. Here is my situation.
(1) Applied for I-485 (Adjustment of status) in July 2007. EB2-India category, PD March 2006.
(2) Wife missed the bus when I applied for I-485. Her papers were not ready at that time.
(3) Changed job utilizing AC21. So no more H1 status for me. Working on EAD in a new company. Living in US on a pending I-485 status.
(4) Sent wife to India so that she will not stay in the US on an invalid H4. (After I quit my company, I assumed my H1 and my wife's H4 became automatically invalid because they belonged to my previous company. In any case those H1/H4 have expired too now.).
(5) I was planning to call wife on a visitor visa. We planned to apply her I-485 once she is in US and dates become current for her.
(6) Suddenly, my PD is current as per the latest bulletin!! Totally unexpected!!
(7) Wife can't come back to US on a short notice on a visitor visa because of many pending tasks back at home.
Now the big question is, is it worthwhile to apply for my wife's I-485 in India through a consular processing route? My understanding is that consular processing does not provide the benefits of EAD and advanced parole. So my wife will anyway have to come to US on a visitor visa. So we may as well apply her I-485 in US itself. At least then our applications will be processed together and she will get the benefits of EAD. And if there are any immigration interviews we can go together too.
But the risk in this plan is that
(1) By the time she is back in US the dates may retrogress again.
(2) Worse, my GC may get approved this month itself, before my wife even has a chance of applying her own I-485, cutting off my wife's chances of getting a dependent GC based on my GC forever.
Now my hunch is that risk no. 1 is a low risk. Either the dates won't retrogress again, or even if they do, they will move forward in October again. So we can live with that.
Risk no. 2 is a bigger risk. But can USCIS take a decision on my I-485 petition so quickly. I don't think so. But if it does, then we lovers will be torn apart.
And lastly, has anybody ever heard of "Follow to join" procedure? What exactly is it and can we utilize it to our benefit?
Common man. .You already aware of that your wife's apps are not ready for I-485. Is this USCIS mistake and you says cruel system? It is your problem when you got the opportunity to not utilize it. You might say some another reason to excuse your self. Don't blame USCIS for everything man.

Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............
