And this willwin guy has the nerve to give me a red mark on my post saying I'm not being diplomatic... like I care about being diplomatic when they want IV to shift its primary focus in order to cater to such ridiculous asks!! Thanks for explaining this clearly. 2 Questions:
1. If you use EAD and don't file AC21 and assume your I140 is revoked and USCIS wrongly denies I485 based on the I140 revocation, will you be on legal status while you fight the USCIS ?
2. If you do file for AC21 and switch jobs, if you happen to change jobs again, do you have to file for AC21 again? Does this need to happen everytime one switches jobs?

I finally heard back something from my Senator's office. He sent me an email from USCIS stating that my FBI check was clear but that I needed new fingerprints as the first set had expired. The email also said that she would request a fingerprinting appt for me which should happen after 30-60 days and once I got fingerprinted the Senators office can contact her so that she can expedite with the I 485 supervisor.
Now my question is should I waoit for her to trigger the 2nd fingerprinting notice, or should I just take an Infopass and try to get them scheduled ? I mean should I really wait 30-60 days just for a fingerprint request (assuming they remember to send one) or can I proactively request it to save time.
Would appreciate a response ?

I mailed second set yesterday...
Then I thaught I mailed to Nebraska address then I mailed my third set to Texas center, dont want to take any chance whichever will be accecpted first.
I am smart...;)

You may send one to California Service center, one to Vermont Service center and the final one to National Support center.
I am sure you will get at least one Receipt number. :D :D

I hope, Skil bill has the provision to lost recapture visa numbers. If the big news Monday benefits us in having AOS filed, then we are looking at recapturing visa numbers anyways.
Why not lobby for it ? If Dream Act can pass as ammendment in Defense Policy Act, why not SKIL Bill ?
If they can attach Dream Act as an amendment to the Defence policy Act why cannot they attach SKILL to the same. That is the question we should be acting on.
I think expecting Sen. Cornyn to do something now is kind of remote. He is going to be facing elections soon in 08. May be Cantwell is the one to do it.

No way CIR or any form of amnesty for illegal will happen in the next few year.
Immigration is one thing where majority of americans are united in controlling illegal population.
It can pass Senate but House it will never pass.
Moment CIR comes up, the right wing will arouse the masses. House members focus on more
local issues and in many districts people dont want illegal amnesty or CIR. They want a crackdown.
Democratic members in the House will never pass CIR against a Republican opposition otherwise they will pay a heavy price in the election.
In fact democratic party was able to get the house by selecting conservation candidates in the
conservative districts. Thats was the Howard dean/Rahm emanuel strategy. Select candiates who can win rather than candidates who are steadfast with core democratic party principles.
Thus you have democratic party members like Jim Webb who are adrent supporters of the NRA
(pro guns) in a state like Virginia.
If this is true, how come CIR is one of the main agendas of democratic party. Also remember hispanic votes were a deciding factor in the last election. GOP acknowledges that. I am very happy with the customer services of New York Indian Consulate. All our passport renewals (4 during last 3 years) happened in a timely fashion and that too thru post without any personal visit. Whenever I e-mailed them with a question, I received answers promptly. I called them to know about status and received precise replies.
I think Meera Shankar needs to be fired. Its bloody 2010 and this is the kind of customer service the indian consulates provide - they dont pick up calls - it takes them a month to issue new passports - Always feel ashamed to be an indian any time I have to deal with these useless consulates.
The Houston consulate does not even have their address properly listed on their website.

We have to wait years here and have to be careful for everything � renew EAD, renew AP in time (how about H1 and L1's not able to file for GC ... ), oh yeah -do not change job or if you do you have to be conform with certain things; and do not be laid off since other than not having income it sucks a bit from the immigration side too�; and so on, sorry guys something is really f�. up here;
